Guardian Dental Insurance

Dental insurance forms with approved stamp

At Killeen Children’s Dental Care, we are dedicated to helping kids get the dentistry services they need without overextending their parents’ budgets. One of the many ways the Killeen Children’s Dental & Orthodontics team works with patients to offer affordable preventive, restorative, advanced pediatric dentistry services is by providing in-network dental insurance coverage for many of the major benefit plans, including Guardian. If you have Guardian dental insurance, our team would be happy to answer any questions you have about your specific coverage. We are in-network with Guardian, and our knowledgeable team works with these benefit plans on a daily basis, making us an invaluable resource to help patients get the most out of their insurance plans. Please don’t hesitate to give our Harker Heights dental office a call to find out more or schedule an appointment with us today.

Basics of Dental Insurance Coverage

chair looking at smile in mirrorEvery dental insurance policy is a unique agreement between a patient, their employer, and the insurer. That means no two patients receive exactly the same coverage, and this can be confusing and frustrating for many. Our team is always here to help you, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We will review your policy, contact Guardian on your behalf, or request a benefit authorization or treatment preapproval. In most cases, patients with Guardian insurance will receive the following coverage:

  • 80 to 100% coverage for preventive care
  • 50 to 80% coverage for restorative services
  • 50 to 75% coverage for orthodontics (when elected)
  • Other procedures like cosmetic treatments and dental implants are not typically covered

In-Network Dental Services

Woman receiving dental examWe are in-network with Guardian dental insurance. That means our team will charge the fees for service that are approved by Guardian. You will only be responsible for the out of pocket percentage of treatment costs. Out of network providers may charge slightly higher fees, but you will need to pay the difference in price between the dentist’s fees and the prices deemed fair by Guardian. This is in addition to your regular out of pocket percentage of treatment costs. In most cases, the difference in fees is minimal, but when you trust an in-network dentist with your child’s care, you know you’ll only ever need to pay the out of pocket costs of your dental care.

Preventing Oral Health Concerns & Maximizing Dental Insurance

Woman in dental chair giving thumbs upVisiting our office every six months is the best way to maximize your dental insurance coverage. Many patients make the mistake of putting off visiting the dentist until they have severe oral health concerns or damage. The treatments to repair these advanced oral health issues can be costly, and they often receive very low percentages of insurance coverage, which means the bulk of the cost falls to you. When you visit our office every six months for dental checkups, your Guardian benefit plan covers the bulk of the cost of your visits, and you avoid the need for more advanced oral health care treatments.
