Dental Fillings in Killeen

Help Repair Cavities

Cavities are never a fun event, but they tend to pop up at some point in growing smiles. In fact, over 90% of the population experiences one or more over the course of their lifetime! Thankfully, the Killeen Children’s Dental & Orthodontics team is here to help with composite dental fillings. These fillings aren’t like the traditional amalgam materials that parents are probably familiar with; instead, they’re tooth-colored, durable, and highly comfortable! Please contact our Harker Heights, TX location today for more information, or if you’re ready to schedule a restorative visit for your loved one.

What is a Dental Filling?

Dental fillings are restorations that are meant to repair tooth damage that’s minor to moderate in scale. Fillings are most commonly used to treat cavities, but our pediatric dentists may also recommend them if your child’s teeth experience small fractures or chips. The goal of the filling is to rebuild the tooth’s natural shape and bring back its full ability to function.

Placing a new filling will only take one appointment here in the Killeen area. First, one of our dentists will carefully remove the damaged portions the tooth and clean away any and all traces of harmful decay. Then, we apply the composite resin filling material and sculpt it into a pleasing shape. Once we’re satisfied with the result, the last step is to harden the filling in place. The results can last for 10-15 years or even longer!
