Delta Dental Insurance
At Killeen Children’s Dental Center, we are dedicated to helping kids get the dentistry services they need and making sure their dental care is affordable for parents. In addition to offering comprehensive, affordable care for kids, we also process and file and dental insurance claims for the majority of traditional PPO benefit providers, Medicaid, and CHIP. We are in-network with many PPO benefit plans, including Guardian, MetLife, and Delta Dental. If you have a Delta Dental plan, our knowledgeable dentistry team will be happy to review your policy and help you maximize insurance benefits. Please contact our Harker Heights dentistry practice to find out more or schedule an appointment with us for your kids.
Your Delta Dental Benefit Plan
We know how complex dental benefit plans can be for those who don’t handle them on a regular basis. At Killeen Children’s Dental Center, we’ll be happy to review your unique benefit plan with you. Please don’t hesitate to let a member of our team know if you have questions about coverage for your child’s necessary dental care. Some basic information that can help patients decipher their treatment plans include understanding the following common insurance policy terms:
- Premium – the amount the patient and/or employer pays each month for insurance coverage
- Average fees – the price the dental insurance deems fair for covered treatments and the price that the insurer will pay a percentage of
- Coverage percentage – the percent of the average treatment cost your insurance provider covers
- Maximums – the greatest total amount your insurance plan will pay in a given plan year
Maximizing Dental Insurance
One of the easiest ways to maximize dental insurance is to bring kids to visit our office every six months for dental checkups. During these biannual appointments, we’ll carefully examine your smile for early warning signs of oral health concerns. Whenever possible, we partner with patients to prevent oral health concerns before they begin, or we provide early intervention and conservative services. Patients receive the greatest percentage of insurance coverage for these preventive appointments, so you’ll have low out of pocket costs. Visiting us for preventive appointments is also the best way to avoid more advanced oral health concerns that receive less insurance coverage.
In-Network VS Out of Network Coverage
As an in-network dentistry practice with Delta Dental, we are able to ensure patients receive the maximum benefit and lowest out of pocket costs for their child’s dental care. In-network dentists have agreements with insurers that they will charge the fees for service deemed fair and average by Delta Dental. That means you’ll only ever need to pay the out of pocket percentage of treatment costs for your child’s dentistry services. Out of network dentists may charge fees higher than those Delta Dental deems fair and average, but you will need to cover the difference in price as well as your out of pocket percentage of the cost of care. By choosing an in-network office, you know you’ll always have the lowest out of pocket treatment costs.
