How to Make Brushing an Effective Part of Your Oral Hygiene Routine

October 11, 2016

Did you know there are things you can do to have an effective tooth-brushing routine? Well, it’s true, and our Killeen Children’s Dental Center team is happy to tell you all about those things!

Brushing your teeth is an important part of your oral hygiene routine, especially because it removes the plaque and harmful bacteria from your teeth and gums. However, that’s only possible if you have effective tools and techniques to brush. So, to help you, we recommend doing the following things:

-Brush your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush. The soft bristles will deeply clean your teeth and care for your gums. We also recommend using a brush that is the perfect size and shape for your mouth. That way the hard-to-reach areas will be easier to clean.

-Make sure to replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months or once your brush’s bristles have frayed. Doing so will help you properly clean your teeth each day.

-As you brush, make sure to use fluoride toothpaste that has been accepted by the American Dental Association.

If you would like to know more about the proper tooth-brushing technique in Harker Heights, TX, please call our office today at (254) 262-3131.
